Scholarship for Social Activities

Social Engagement Scholarship is awarded to students for individual achievements that contribute to building a better society, addressing societal challenges, advancing the objectives set out in the University's Strategic Action Plan, or otherwise enhancing the reputation of Vilnius University.

The scholarship ranges from 2 to 15 Basic Social Benefit Units (BSI) (EUR 148–1,110), with 1 BSI currently equal to EUR 74.

Students wishing to apply must submit an application through the Vilnius University Information System (VU IS) by 25 October in the autumn semester or by 25 March in the spring semester.

The application must include a detailed description of the activities for which the scholarship is requested, specifying:

• the period during which the activities were carried out;

• the scope of the activities;

• their contribution to society or to promoting the reputation of Vilnius University.

Applicants may also attach recommendation letters, supporting documents, certificates, or other evidence of their activities.

Students who are on academic leave or have temporarily suspended their studies are also eligible to apply for this scholarship.
